MFGG Couples

A fad basically started by Naoshi and Avi in 2004 when he asked her out (hypothetically speaking). Several other members had declared the same within a month. A few couples had even met in real life.

While almost all of the relationships had been genuine, the boards would host posts containing passing references made about various couples and drawings of MFGG couples' characters together became a phenomenon, as well as lovey-dovey references in couples' avatars and sigs. Sometimes speculation and rumour created a couple, such as that of Hanyou and Salad, but it was a joke in part humouring the general dynamic of the whole thing. At its peak it was almost everywhere.

However with every fad there were those who opposed it such as Duckboy and Mario Gamer, who had claimed it would never work out because people could lie online right down to their gender.

The fad died when the first major wave of couples broke up. However a few persisted, one lasted up until relatively recently.
